A safety system rarely operates alone. Worker data may come from HRIS, competency data from an LMS, contractor details from a mobilisation platform, access data from a site system and management reporting from Power BI. Integration turns those platforms into one operating model—but only when ownership and reconciliation are clear.
Define the source of truth first
Before selecting an API, SFTP feed or automation tool, decide which system owns each data object. Employees, contractors, companies, sites, positions, competencies and organisational hierarchy should not have multiple competing masters.
Choose the integration pattern that fits the process
Safety system integration may use REST APIs, scheduled files, SFTP, middleware, workflow automation or direct database/reporting connections. The right choice depends on update frequency, security, error handling, vendor capability and how quickly the business needs changes reflected.
HRIS to safety system integration
HRIS integrations can automate worker creation, manager changes, departments, positions, employment status and other attributes that drive permissions and workflows. Oracle HCM, SAP SuccessFactors and Workday are common enterprise sources.
LMS and competency integration
Learning and competency data can support induction, licence, role and site-access decisions. Integration should distinguish current competency from historical completion data and define how expiry, superseded courses and exceptions are handled.
Contractor and workforce systems
Contractor safety integrations may connect company prequalification, workforce onboarding, access requests, mobilisation and competency data. Clear matching rules are essential because duplicate worker and company records quickly undermine reporting.
Safety system API and SFTP controls
Every interface needs monitoring, exception handling, retries and reconciliation. A technically successful API call is not enough; the business needs to know whether the expected record was created, updated or rejected.
Power BI safety reporting
Power BI can combine incident, hazard, risk, action, audit, contractor, hours and workforce data into operational and executive dashboards. Typical outputs include TRIFR, LTIFR, incident trends, lead indicators, assurance completion, action ageing, contractor compliance and critical control verification.
CloudHub's Power BI safety reporting service covers modelling, DAX, source integration, reconciliation and managed reporting.
Data quality and reconciliation
Safety analytics are only as reliable as the records underneath them. Build checks for duplicates, missing hierarchy values, stale workers, mismatched dates, failed interface records and unexplained variance between operational systems and dashboards.
HSI Donesafe integration
For HSI Donesafe environments, CloudHub can support HRIS, LMS, contractor, SFTP, API and Power BI workstreams alongside configuration and managed support. See HSI Donesafe consulting for platform-specific integration support.
Need to connect your safety systems?
CloudHub can design the integration architecture, build the reporting layer and put reconciliation controls around the data.
